The Coast to Coast Eco Challenge. This was a hiking trip from the East to West coast of Scoatland, with a "strong emphasis on the preservation off the environment". It was a four day trip, and it raised support for the Global Girls Fund. This was Created to help young women and girls from all around the world reach thier full potenial and help change the worl for the better. I want to know what you think of this! Do you think it was a great idea? Or one that could use work? Would you want to have an event like this in your area? Comment what you think!!

I suspect an East to West coast trek across Canada may be too daunting, but the general idea is a good attention getter. People seeing a group in action like this will ask questions and therefor raise awareness of environmental issues. A thought about a trek: how about a 2 day trek from Vancouver to the border co-ordinated with another group trekking from Seattle and meeting during Hands Across the Border?
ReplyDeleteI think that a "preservation of the environment" trek is a wonderful idea. The young girls who participate would become ambassadors and spread their knowledge and passion for environmental issues to people in their communities. For every girl that attends...many more people will be educated and made aware of how important it is to protect our planet. That's how change begins...one person at a time!
